Aurora Colors Explained π
Ever wondered why auroras glow in different colors?
Each hue reveals what’s happening high above our atmosphere:
✨ Red — Excited atomic oxygen at very high altitudes (over 150 miles).
π Green — Oxygen at lower altitudes, where it’s more concentrated.
π Blue & Purple — Ionized nitrogen, glowing during intense solar activity.
Together, these elements paint the night sky with one of nature’s most breathtaking displays — the Northern Lights. π
