How to Make Pineapple Vodka
Making pineapple vodka involves infusing vodka with the flavor of sliced fresh pineapple. The infusion process takes about one week.
Ingredients
Servings: 20 to 25
- 1 1/2 large pineapples, peeled and cut into 1” (2.5cm) slices
- 1 750ml (25 oz) bottle of vodka
Steps
Infusing the vodka
- 1Clean and dry a 1-gallon (3.7 liter) glass jar, such as a pickle jar. The opening of the jar should be wide enough to insert the pineapple slices.
-
Layer the pineapple slices in the jar.
- 3Pour the bottle of vodka over the pineapples and seal the jar.
- 4Seal the jar and allow the mixture to steep for one week.
Straining and storing the vodka
Before discarding the pineapples, squeeze the pineapple juice into the infusion for extra flavor. Store the vodka in sterile bottles or glass jars in your refrigerator.
- 1Remove the jar of vodka from its storage location and place a piece of cheesecloth or a clean tea towel over the mouth of the jar.
-
Pour the vodka through the cheesecloth or the towel into clean bottles and jars.
- 3Remove the pineapple slices from the jar and place them in a blender.
- 4Puree the pineapple and strain the juice into a clean container.
- 5Combine the juice with the infused vodka.
- 6Place the vodka containers (covered) into the refrigerator until you are ready to use them.
Tips
- If you own a juicer, then use your juicer to juice the pineapples after they are removed from the vodka mixture.
- To serve the pineapple vodka, shake it in a cocktail shaker with ice. Serve the vodka cold in a cocktail glass.
